Our ‘Retro’ Pinot Noir comes from the Santa Lucia Highlands growing region of Monterey County, which has quickly become renowned as one of the premier Pinot Noir growing regions in California. The coastal fog and winds from the Monterey Bay make for a long, slow growing season – ideal for a variety like Pinot Noir which thrives in cooler climates. This Pinot Noir has a lovely medium ruby color with excellent clarity. Aged partially in stainless steel, and partially in barrels, this Pinot Noir is fresh and fruit forward with aromas of strawberry and cherry jumping out of the glass. On the pallet is more fresh fruit, just a touch of sweet French oak, and a classic Santa Lucia Highlands minerality.
