As is typical of Ramsay Merlots over the last decade, this vintage is a rich wine, with lots of nice ripe fruit, but it is not a huge tannic monster. Liking big, juicy, friendly wines and this one is absolutely succulent. Aromas of sage, black olive and ripe mulberry. Intense flavors of blackberry and currant followed by subtle hints of cherry, earth and black pepper.
