Hopler Trockenbeerenauslese - Burgenland, Austria

trocken

A rare wine of the highest quality, the Trockenbeerenauslese is created from a selected picking of dried, very ripe berries that have been affected by "noble" rot. Apricot and cloves aromas with a palate treading the palate to hints of nutmeg, cloves, honey, apricot and citrus. A complex rich and harmonious finish. Flavorful and rich, this wine may be enjoyed with pâté de foie gras, fruit and all kinds of desserts. 35% Sämling 88, 35% Welschriesling, and 30% Riesling.

christofMeet Christof Hopler - Winemaker

Christof studied Business Administration at Vienna University intent on pursuing a career in banking. His astute business sense alerted him to the fact that working in his father’s wine business during his studies enhanced his financial and, naturally, his social quality of life. Founded by Jost Hopler in the 1980's, his son Christof (pictured) is now winemaker and runs the everyday operations of the winery. Their 50ha of vineyards lie in the Leithaberg Hills on the shores of Lake Neusiedl.
