"Cetamura" Chianti DOCG - Tuscany

cetamura

Intense bright ruby red, cherry and blackberry nose with cinnamon and clove nuances. Full and well-balanced, soft but tasty, with good structure. Pleasant acidity, clean and persistent aftertaste. Sangiovese and small amount of Canaiolo. Badia a Coltibuono developed Cetamura (pronounced chay-ta-MOO-ra) in the late 1980s to apply the know-how developed in the production of the estate wines to the goal of producing an excellent value wine. The Cetamura name comes from a hamlet on the Badia a Coltibuono estate where archeologists have excavated remains of a medieval fort, an earlier Roman villa, and an even earlier Estruscan town. Finds at Cetamura include evidence of viticulture more than 2,000 years old.

Meet Robert Stucchi - Winemaker (Pictured with Emanuela)

Badia a Coltibuono, set in the hills of Chianti Classico, is an old Benedictine abbey that dates back to the 11th century, and the estate has been making wine for centuries. Its current owners, the Stucchi Prinetti family, have been in the wine business since the 1950s, when they first started bottling their Chianti Classico Riserva. Today, the family business is run by Roberto Stucchi, 42, and his sister, Emanuela Stucchi Prinetti, 46. Since 1985, Roberto has overseen the vineyards and the winemaking, while Emanuela has been in charge of the commercial side of the business, including marketing, since 1989. She also serves as the president of the Consorzio del Marchio Storico Chianti Classico, the local growers' association.stucchi
