Meet Robert Stucchi - Winemaker (Pictured with Emanuela)
Badia a Coltibuono, set in the hills of Chianti Classico, is an old Benedictine abbey that dates back to the 11th century, and the estate has been making wine for centuries. Its current owners, the Stucchi Prinetti family, have been in the wine business since the 1950s, when they first started bottling their Chianti Classico Riserva. Today, the family business is run by Roberto Stucchi, 42, and his sister, Emanuela Stucchi Prinetti, 46. Since 1985, Roberto has overseen the vineyards and the winemaking, while Emanuela has been in charge of the commercial side of the business, including marketing, since 1989. She also serves as the president of the Consorzio del Marchio Storico Chianti Classico, the local growers' association.
